Our 5 day spot-and-stalk black bear hunts can be in spring or fall. There is a high population of bears in our area giving each hunter multiple opportunities in a day to harvest a trophy bear.
In the spring we hunt the farmers fields, south facing slopes and the sides of the logging roads where the grass will be green first. The bears are right out of hibernation and their coats are at their very best.
In the fall we hunt bears in the old clear cuts and in the berry patches where they are eating and trying to fatten up to go into hibernation. Our bears range from 6 – 7 feet nose-to-tail with some going over 7 feet. We also have a good population of color phase bears.
